Singing & Percussion

Luciana & Pablo

Singing and percussion of folklore of northwestern Argentina: Chacarera and Vidala.
In this workshop we will approach the chacarera and vidala through singing and playing percussion. We will learn to recognize and play the rhythmic patterns or "claves" of each rhythm through the listening of examples, body percussion and bombo exercises. We will then develop what we have learned by singing a selection of songs in a ensemble of voices and percussion.

Bring your bombo or any other percussion instrument. Let the organisers know if you don't possess an instrument so we can organise one for you. Participation without instrument is possible as well.
